Speech-Language Pathologist
Joseph Hitchcock is a speech-language pathologist specializing in voice, swallowing, and upper airway disorders. Prior to becoming an SLP, Joseph obtained graduate degrees in vocal performance and voice pedagogy from New York University and worked as a performer and voice teacher for two decades. He received a Master of Science in Communication Disorders from Emerson College. During his graduate studies, he completed a clinical placement at the Grabscheid Voice and Swallowing Center at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, as well as placements at a neurogenic rehabilitation clinic and in/outpatient hospital settings. He completed his clinical fellowship in voice, swallowing, and upper airway disorders at Lakeshore Professional Voice Center outside of Detroit.
Joseph enjoys working with patients with a wide range of voice, swallowing, and upper airway complaints, including singers and other performers. He believes in working with his patients to develop evidence-based treatment plans that fit their lifestyle and help them to reach their goals for recovery. He lives with his wife, their young son, and two small dogs.
